Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Storm Warnings

I have been receiving storm warnings all day, but all we got out of it was a late shower at around 6pm. Just enough to wet the ground. This is what’s coming right now, but it seems to be dissipating …

I had a four hour ZOOM call with The Gypsy today from 10am.

As always it was insightful and inspiring. I love our calls.

I cooked honey soy chicken thighs, potato salad, coleslaw and bacon, green bean and goats cheese salad for dinner.

Afterwards I switched between the BBL cricket and the tennis “A Night with Novak”. I watch it every year and my cheeks always ache from laughing and smiling for three hours.

Adoring Husband was recently diagnosed with COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) which I thought was very odd, because his lungs were tested prior to his DBS surgery and they were perfect.

So I did a little research today and discovered that DBS can trigger coughing and breathlessness because it stimulates the vagus nerve.

This makes me incredibly annoyed with his regular GP because he didn’t even run the usual test for COPD before diagnosing it.

So we will discuss this issue with the Parkinson’s professor at the next ZOOM appointment in February.

While I was watching TV tonight, I grabbed my art journal and had a scribble …

It’s obviously not finished, but it felt good to pick up a pencil after more than a year.

It’s raining again! I’m now going to fall asleep to the sound of rain on our tin roof.

Nite all.
