The usual - a day in front of the computer screen playing with photos.
This afternoon, I went for a ride. I had to visit the 'Shell Man' briefly and then I rode down to the beach. There was a lady there feeding some pelicans. She had some carcasses of the fish that she had caught earlier in the day.
It was the highlight of my day ... until I discovered that the Brahminy Kite chick in the nest is still being cared for!
Last week, one of the older Brahminy Kites fell dead out of the nest, onto the road. The man who lives in the house under the tree had told me that there was a chick in the nest and I was sure that it would die without the older bird to care for it.
This afternoon, I watched a Brahminy Kite in the tree opposite the nest as he ate some food and then flew over to the nest. I could hear the chick making noises! Such a relief :)
So all is right in my Brahminy world again :)
Nite all
I'm lazy and selfish and spend too much time on the internet. I love to be creative with photography and jewellery and sketching with pencil and pastels. I'm happier now than I have ever been and I love everything about my life ... where I live, my home, my fantastic grown up children, my lifestyle, my friends, my dogs and last but not least my wonderful adoring husband. Life is good!
Nice to see you!
Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.
Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.
Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**
Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!
So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!
Welcome to my dilemna!!
