Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Still Grateful

Yesterday I felt grateful for:

  1. The glorious sunshine that almost deflected the knowledge of the current fragility of our world.
  2. Delicious salmon and salad.
  3. My 36 minute deep sleep meditation that I only heard three minutes of before falling sound asleep.
Today I feel grateful for:

  1. The gorgeous heavy rain that felt like it was washing away all the troubles of the world.
  2. My lazy morning in bed doing a whole lot of nothing.
  3. Adoring Husband’s morning greeting full of love and caffeine 😝 ☕️
I had to go to our shop this afternoon so that my two workshop participants could pick up their dried art pieces. It was a very quick hand over.

For dinner, we had rice wraps with chilli chicken, snow peas, avocado, shallots, carrot, cucumber and mint with a spicy vinegar dipping sauce which I spooned inside the wraps instead of dipping them.

I was intending to swim this afternoon, but then the rain came. The pool water felt just right because the days have been quite warm. Perhaps I’ll try again tomorrow.

And I really should attempt to start something on my list and get into some kind of routine because these days of isolation are going to grow into months of isolation, so I would like be a little productive during this time.

It’s going to be midnight before we know it, so I’m off to bed.

Nite all.
