Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Cold Snap

The cold wet weather kept everyone at home today so the shop was very quiet.

It gave The Motivator and I plenty of time to create our announcement ...

So some big changes happening in both of our lives as we move forward with new plans for our futures! It’s a little sad and pretty exciting at the same time 😢🥳

I think we will both do very well because we begin this new chapter of our lives with positivity and strong support for each other. We are both still smiling.

After posting the announcement to Facebook this afternoon, I sat with Adoring Husband to watch Australian comedian stand up shows and after a couple of hours my cheeks were sore from smiling and laughing so much, but I confess that AH and I both, at different times, enjoyed a little unplanned nap 😳

I also confess that I’m loving this cold snap in the weather. There has been a real chill in the air all day and most people out and about have been rugged up in jeans and jackets with closed in shoes ... such an unusual sight for our area!

Time to snuggle under the doona (in much more comfortable positions than those puppies) and get some sleep.

Nite all.
