Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Yuk Kinda Day

I’ve had an upset tummy since last night.

My sleep was interrupted and I couldn’t get comfortable.

Now, after more than 24 hours, my tummy is still feeling a little tender but it’s much improved.

I was gentle with it drinking lots of filtered water and warm chicken broth. I ate a kiwi fruit, a small boneless chicken thigh and a piece of toast with melted lactose free cheese.

I think it was caused by the prawns that I bought from Coles. I usually buy them fresh locally but I saw these in the Coles deli and they were ‘Product of Australia’ so I took a risk.

My energy levels were extremely low today and all I could do was package the bone broth and fill the slow cooker with the next batch.

Adoring Husband was helping a mate do some carpentry work in Maryborough so I prepared a sweet chilli chicken dish in the oven for his dinner and planted myself in front of the telly to watch football.

I almost considered going for a swim but I couldn’t find the energy to get changed or even walk the distance to the pool, so it remained an unfulfilled idea in my mind.

The final episodes of Grace and Frankie were released today and I started to watch them too.

As I type this, I’m yawning every couple of minutes so I think sleep is calling me. Let’s hope my body has recovered by morning and I can be a little more productive.

Nite all.
