Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

A Day Out

Due to public holidays and flooding rains blocking the roads, it had been twelve days since we visited The Bay so we decided to take advantage of the beautiful day and make our way in there.

We had a lovely time and enjoyed a fresh juice from Su Jus (we’ve missed our juice). We did a little grocery shopping but my fave butcher and Farmgate produce were both closed so I picked up some fresh raw prawn cutlets and some bread.

Browsing some shops but not buying anything - unusual I know!

It was tough to get going this morning because I was up until almost 2am attempting to delete 12,000 emails from my iPad!

My problem was that every time I deleted them, thousands would reappear. I had to “select all” and delete, which put them in the bin - then I had to go to the bin “select all” and delete again.

8,000 came back so I had to start the process again, then 5,000 came back and I had to start the process again, then 3,000 came back.

It was slow going I tell you! I gave up just before 2am and when I woke up this morning, there were 1,500 emails still sitting there!!! Ugh!

As of this moment, I have ZERO emails and every email folder is empty. A good way to start the year. Let’s keep it that way.

Tomorrow, my plan is to finish my vision board and take a photo for the 52Frames.com photography group. The theme is “Self Portrait” and I want to recreate something like this …

Or I might use my imagination and think of something different.

The cricket today has been fantastic and I’m watching a great tennis match between the two giants now on the circuit. Perricard is 6’8” and from France. Opelka is 6’11” and from USA. They both have amazing serves, huge wingspans and, for their size, move incredible well on court. Their accuracy when hitting the ball is pinpoint so they are entertaining to watch.

I will fall asleep, once again, to the sound of racket on ball.

Nite all.
