Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Getting Into the Year

In the dying days of 2024, I joined a photography group/club called 52Frames.

It’s a website with an accompanying Facebook page where they provide a new theme every week and you have to submit a photo. This week’s theme is “self portrait”.

I haven’t completed the challenge yet and I have four days up my sleeve! I have some ideas.

In my mind, I am also planning this year’s vision board.

I’ve listed my priorities for health, creativity, family, money, goals, education and what I hope to continue doing from last year.

Searching magazines and the internet, I’ve found lots of pics relating to each intention and a few meaningful quotes to fill in the gaps.

Over the weekend, I’ll choose my coloured cardboard, configure my layout and put it all together.

We’ve been flooded in for the last three days so we’ve had no choice but to remain at home, which is fine by me because there is tennis and cricket to watch, journaling to do, pics to colour in, naps to be had and blog posts to write!

Dinner was a bit of a mixed bag tonight.

Adoring Husband had last night’s leftovers accompanied by baked sweet potato, salad and focaccia.

BGWLBH had baked sweet potato with spicy turkey mince on top, then topped with fresh coleslaw and topped again with coconut sour cream. She also had salad (lettuce, tomato, capsicum, pear, avocado, celery, cranberries, pepitas and goats cheese w orange dressing) and focaccia.

I rarely eat dinner and tonight was no exception. I did have a pine/orange ice block after dinner.

There is both tennis and cricket on the TV menu tonight so I am surfing back and forth.

Nite all.
