Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

The Lull

I’ve realised today, that school holidays begin at the end of next week.

It means this is the lull before the storm.

There was a thick pea soup kinda fog this morning. The type of fog that hid everything from view - the sky, the river, the bush, the road … it was especially bad for The Gypsy who had to travel for an hour through it.

We all arrived safe n sound where we had to be, but we hope there won’t be too many mornings like this one.

There were three empty seats in meditation this morning and The Gypsy provided a great class but couldn’t stay afterwards because she had a class to run at the Bay library.

There were seven ladies hanging about afterwards for a chat which was quite enjoyable and we had some good belly laughs between us all.

A couple of regulars came for a visit and we chatted for quite some time.

I attempted to print out my PayPal transactions for tax purposes, but my printer didn’t want to play the game and would only connect for one out of every three or four requests which was very annoying so I gave up and will try again tomorrow.

I received a Peter Pauper catalogue in the mail so I browsed through that, marking items for my order Wishlist. I recruited Bubbles to find the prices of all my picks and mark them accordingly so I can figure out what I can afford.

It was a below average day of sales.

Adoring Husband and I very efficiently closed the shop and rushed home so that I could bake some GF cupcakes for afternoon tea and prep the potatoes for a big batch of mash - which Bubbles loves.

We played Five Second Rule all afternoon. I won two games and Bubbles won one.

I crumbed some chicken tenderloins with a combination of GF breadcrumbs and almond meal which were delicious.

I was too full to even have my daily ice cream in a cone for dessert!

After my Big Brother fix, I came to bed and suddenly it’s almost 11.30pm!

Time for sleep.

Nite all.
