Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

It's Good to be Home.

Five and a half hours to do a four hour trip!  Roadworks, roadworks, roadworks and more roadworks!

Gryphonn came over to our cottage just before 10am to say goodbye.  It was hard to leave him.  Until this week, I hadn't seen him for five years, probably closer to six.  That's a long time.

We parted company with no promises about seeing each other in the future, but with open invitations for either of us to visit each other.

Who knows what the future will bring.

It's been a while since I posted some photos of Chicklet, so here are a few that Vegan Chickie emailed me this evening, which were taken during the week.

She was a such a happy little vegemite all week, bringing smiles and laughter into our lives during such a sad time.

Vegan Chickie, the Bare-chested Chef and Chicklet all arrived home safe n sound this evening too.

It's been a long week.  It's good to be home.
