Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Electric Blue

Shot number two selected from the top 18 on my list.

Electric Blue - Photo 2 of 104
Not very imaginative, but I was out for most of the day and it has been pouring rain all afternoon.  The control panel on my free-standing column fan glows at me day and night.  I find the colour very calming actually!

Today, Adoring Husband and I watched the movie 'We Bought a Zoo' at the cinema.  A most enjoyable movie with some good giggles and a couple of teary moments.  I think I'll buy this one on dvd when it hits the stores.

Afterwards, we did some shopping, had some lunch and then headed home.

The weather has been very wet, but further south has had so much more rain than us.  We've had 50 ml (2 inches in the old scale) since Monday morning.  The forecast is for more heavy rain for the next four days at least!

We would like to groom our dogs tomorrow.  Haircuts, nails clipped and a bath, but I don't think the weather will be conducive to dog washing!

Right now, it's definitely time for bed!

Nite all.
