Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Day 102 in a Year of my Life

Can barely keep my eyes open.

Adoring Husband and I drove into The Bay this morning and saw 'Les Mis' at the cinema.

Adoring Husband slept through a good portion of it.  He is not the slightest bit interested in

  • Period Movies
  • Period Musicals
It was very nice of him to sit through 3 hours of what he would probably class as his 'cruellest form of torture'!

I loved the movie and I'm glad that I saw it on the big screen because it was a spectacle to behold.

It was nice to get out together - we finally had a builder secure the house yesterday.  We've had a gaping hole for anyone to walk through for 10 days, so one of us had to be here at the house to protect ourselves against looters and the like.

Definitely time to sleep.

A photo of one of my old boys from the Seat of Knowledge, who lives in the caravan park and who survived the tornado intact.

Nite all.
