Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Dinner with Friends

Adoring Husband and I went out to dinner tonight with The Sex Therapist and a small group of friends. It was a fun night and made me realise how much I miss The Sex Therapist. I hope we get to see each other again at least once before Christmas.

It's been an interesting day. I've spent some quality time with people I haven't had contact with for a long time and really enjoyed chatting with them.

Life gets in the way sometimes.

I did take some photos tonight, but won't share them until tomorrow night.

All I have from today is a shot of my second set of Tawny Frogmouths who have also left the nest, but are still hanging out in the big tree.

The first set of chicks have left the nest and also left the area where they were hanging out. I have no idea where they are now.

So we are now near the end of the Tawny season, which makes me a bit sad. It's time to look elsewhere for the next phase of nature .. I have no idea what that might be, but I'm sure it will be interesting and intriguing.

Nite all.
