Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

After Christmas

I believe that the food-like substances that we ate on Christmas Day provided no energy or nutrients for our bodies and we were totally and completely lethargic today. Absolute brain fog and rock bottom motivation.

I remained in bed all day and Adoring Husband dozed on and off on his recliner chair.

At 5pm I struggled out of bed and put a chicken in the oven, put some clothes on the line and put another load in to wash then swam in the pool for about 45 minutes before adding all the vegetables to the oven with the chicken.

Hopefully baked chicken and vegetables with home made gravy has provided enough energy for our bodies to see a little more action tomorrow.

So this was perfect for my 'today' ...

I'll be working for the first half of the day tomorrow 9am - 1pm and The Motivator will take over for the second half.

AH's foot is still causing him some grief but he can walk on it, so we're not too concerned at this stage. He is also on antibiotics for an ear infection so that should prevent any infection in his foot.

I'm done for the day.

Early to bed.

Nite all.
