Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Full On

Because Beautiful Girl With Long Blonde Hair was taking Adoring Husband into The Bay early for his appointment to have an MRI, I had to ride to work and open the shop on my own.

I was running a little late so Lady Lynn, who was the first to arrive for our coffee morning, became my assistant and made my life easier. It was such a pleasant surprise to have her join us!

Our numbers were down a bit and customers took me away from the table a few times.

Six boxes of stock arrived so the girls hung around to watch me open the boxes and they got first dibs on the treasures that emerged!

After they left, I realised that I’d left my journaling lesson at home and there was nobody available to deliver it to me.

😳

Luckily, I have very understanding participants. They were cool with me telling them the subject matter while they wrote everything down.

They were excited about the subject for today and there was lots of discussion and sharing of experiences. We did 20 minutes of timed writing and we nibbled on the leftover crackers and dip from our Christmas party.

Sales were not huge today but there were a lot of people in for a look. Maybe they’ll return some time this week to spend.

My cleaner came in for her weekly hour of dusting and one of the journaling participants helped me display some of the new stock that I’d priced.

I cooked duck breast and vegetables for dinner and made a mandarin sauce.

We played trivia.

I played Popmaster.

Now it’s almost 11pm so I’d best get some sleep.

Nite all.
