Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Day 192 in a Year of my Life

Day 192 has been very quiet.

I have been relaxing and enjoying some time at home doing not much of anything.

I am grateful for days like this.  They are good for the soul and I feel quite rejuvenated.

Breathe in.  Breathe out.

Everybody should try to have a day like this.

No demands.  No guilt.  No deadlines.

From the minute you wake up in the morning, til the second you fall asleep that night - all for you, to do exactly as you please.

Time at home by myself is a great luxury for me and one of my favourite things.

I catch up on new dvds or watch my favourite old ones.  No set times for eating.  Take up the whole bed while I sleep.  Sing loudly to the radio.  Dance around the kitchen while I cook.  Doze on the couch during the day.  Paint my toe nails.  Catch up on my reading - usually old subscription magazines (photography) that I haven't had a chance to get into.  The list goes on.

Today has been a very good day.

Nite all.

Have you seen 'The Best exotic marigold hotel'? It is our favourite dvd. Catch up with it if you haven't already seen it.

Like your quiet day remarks very
much.
