Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Rained Again!

There are three important birthdays between 23rd March and 6th April.

For the first two birthdays, I sent money to contribute to fun at the comedy festival in Melbourne, but I still had a couple of small gifts to send in the mail, which I decided to send with the final birthday gifts - because they all live in the same house.

The final birthday is this Sunday and I only sent the very large parcel today.

It won’t arrive til next week now - way after the actual birthday - but what fun they’ll all have opening it!

There are even gifts for the non birthday member of the household.

Anyway, it took me over an hour to wrap everything individually, pack it all tightly in my selected box, wrap the box securely, address it and then wind clear packing tape to completely cover the wrapped box - because that’s what I do!

It is pure hell to receive one of my parcels, but definitely worth the effort of opening it haha.

It cost $35 to send in the mail 😳

Adoring Husband and I watched the movie “Shall We Dance” starring Susan Sarandon, Richard Gere, JLo and Stanley Tucci. I always enjoy that movie.

After that, I watched “Twilight”.

We had a short, sharp storm this afternoon that dropped about 10mm of rain upon us.

We had two football games to watch tonight.

Adoring Husband’s AFL team Collingwood defeated my AFL team, Carlton.

Adoring Husband’s NRL team, Cronulla, lost to Canberra Raiders.

Now it’s time to sleep because I have a girlie date tomorrow which includes a visit to the HB Art Gallery and a luncheon with my art girls.

Nite all.
