Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Bloggone it!

Oops!

I went to bed last night, quite late, and just as I was about to doze off, my eyes sprung open and I realised ... I forgot to do my blog!

Ah well, too late she cried!!

Yesterday afternoon, Adoring Husband and I did a barefoot walk on the beach which was really nice and I carried my camera with me (of course).

I began to study for the new term today.

This is going to be very interesting .. and quite a bit more intense than last term .. although I am not going to procrastinate for the first three months like I did last term! And then panic for the last three months!

This evening we gathered with a group of friends down at the Lions Park for a barbecue dinner, with each of us contributing a food plate.

There was a roast pumpkin, pine nut and spinach salad, garden salad, potato bake, coleslaw and four cheese tart. We each took our own meat and drinks.

Good food, good wine, good friends gathered at a perfect location for a really pleasant evening together. We are going to make it a regular event.

Nite all.
