Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Saturday Night Dull

Do they make Saturday night TV dull for a reason?

Now that the football season is over, we are left to contend with movies that have been shown at least a dozen times over and repeats of every TV series from every decade since the 60s.

So Adoring Husband and I have watched The Muppet Movie and now we're watching an old 1943 Western called 'Desperadoes' starring Randolph Scott, Glenn Ford and Claire Trevor.

It's probably a good thing, since we are rising bright and early for a drive down to the Sunny Coast to visit the Chicklet family tomorrow.

The best thing about tonight is that I changed the sheets on the bed today, so I'll be sliding into nice crisp clean bedding. That's one of life's special pleasures.

For anybody who cares, Jack (the dog) is home and doing very well. The whites of his eyes are blood red as a side effect of the inflammation and high temperature of his condition, which makes him a little bit freaky to look at, but other than that, he is happily barking at the dog next door, so that's gotta be a good sign.

It's been a while since I shared some facebook quotes.

My bed is calling me, so ...

Nite all.
