We had a mixed group with some faces that are familiar in other surroundings but not usually Tuesday coffee morning!
The Old Speckled Hen arrived early, Work in Progress turned up unexpectedly, then The Motivator and Mama Mia stopped briefly before their movie date and they all joined The Brains Trust (once known as Tweedle Dee!), The Whingeing Pom, Beauty and I in the coffee corner for our morning session.
They all started the ball rolling with sales and it continued to be a good day with another steady flow of customers throughout the day - including one last customer who came through the door at four minutes to closing and spent enough money to reach my goal for the day!
A big box of hemp hats arrived in the mail and we're hoping that tomorrow will bring the colourful kaftans - the kaftans were ordered from Sydney on the same day as the hats, yet the hats arrived from Nepal (!!!) earlier than the kaftans from Sydney!
How does that work?
The snap jewellery was the most popular today.
I left the shop before 3.30pm and was in my pool swimming well before 4pm. I exercised. I floated. I swam. I kicked. I sat.
At 5pm when the creepy crawly timer went off and everything went silent, I chose to remove myself from the pool and get dinner started.
San Choy Bow was on the menu and it was quite delicious. Fresh blueberries and ice cream for dessert.
It's now 8.20pm and I need to be up early for meditation so this is short and sweet tonight.
Nite all.
I'm lazy and selfish and spend too much time on the internet. I love to be creative with photography and jewellery and sketching with pencil and pastels. I'm happier now than I have ever been and I love everything about my life ... where I live, my home, my fantastic grown up children, my lifestyle, my friends, my dogs and last but not least my wonderful adoring husband. Life is good!
Nice to see you!
Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.
Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.
Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**
Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!
So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!
Welcome to my dilemna!!
