Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Unexpected That Was!

I had a crazy busy day today.

I hardly spent any time with the girls for coffee because there were customers through the door constantly.

Unexpected that was.

Fifteen minutes after the last of my girls left, two mini buses drove into our parking area out the back and twenty elderly ladies came through the doors!

Unexpected that was!

Almost all of them purchased something just for the sake of it. All of them wanted to be served at once, and a couple of them got a bit snooty because they had to wait!

Unexpected that was.

Before I’d finished serving them, a group of ladies from Woodgate walked through the doors.

Expected, that was.

At one point, I had about 30 people in the shop!

It was a frantic hour and a bit and I didn’t have time to write anything down between customers, so I had to rely on my memory to list the sales after everyone had left.

Even after that, I had a steady flow of people and the last customer left at about 2.55pm.

Unexpected that was.

Adoring Husband arrived right on time to help close the shop so that I could get to hooping class by 3.20pm. It was a lot of fun and we all laughed a lot, but it was also exhausting!

Expected, that was.

I rode my trike today, for just the second time in almost 3 months. I must get back into the habit of riding every day. It felt good.

I began cooking dinner as soon as I got home and made a quiche. We had leftover fried rice and some potato chips with the leftovers of sliced potato. That took an hour.

Now I am feeling absolutely exhausted, but I have to finish painting my little wine stand because I sold it via Facebook this evening!

Unexpected that was!

Best get moving otherwise I'll never get to bed tonight and I have an early start tomorrow for meditation.

What a day!

Nite all.
