Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Day of Lists

Today’s lists include:

  • A list of duties, in order, for the cleaning job
  • A list of possible psychotic dog problems and how to fix them
  • A list of names and phone numbers of the people most able to help in certain situations
  • A list of ‘must dos’ on each day
  • A list of last minute packing needs before we leave
  • A list otherwise known as an itinerary
  • A list of spices required for dinner tonight - butter chicken
Bubbles went with Adoring Husband to learn the job this morning and then after lunch she and I played Yahtzee all afternoon.

The weather was really not conducive for swimming today, but that gave Bubbles time to work on her relationship with the psychotic dogs. Their age and inability to see or hear properly has left them a little tentative in her presence ... which is very unusual and a little disappointing for Bubbles.

No doubt she’ll have them wrapped around her little finger before she leaves, but it’s taking longer than usual.

This is a short post because I’m in bed ready to sleep and there are two buzzing flies annoying the hell out of me right now. I’m about to go to town with the big green fly swat!

Nite all.
