Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Change of Pace

A very quiet day in the shop today.

I made a large green juice to start my day. Mint, celery, cucumber, spinach, apple, coconut water and water. The cheap little blender that I bought for the shop works really well.

For lunch I ate a big bowl of strawberries and blueberries with some lactose free cream.

I finally completed some big items on my ‘to do’ list so I feel like I achieved a lot.

The Brains Trust paid me a visit which was lovely!

I paid some bills, did some filing, cleared some emails, washed the dishes, emptied the bins, made a list of orders, listed the deliveries due next week, emailed a stack of info to the accountant, stapled biz cards to my carry bags and started to clear my desk.

This afternoon I made myself comfy on the couch and wrote 5 pages to add to my life journal - which is coming together nicely.

I watched the first game of footy while Adoring Husband slept on the chair beside me.

Now I’m watching my team play a very tight game against the Roosters. I’ve tipped against my team so I’m torn! The score is currently 18 - all.

I’m craving a big block of Cadbury Snack chocolate! It’s been a lot of years since I’ve had one of those so I don’t know why that has entered my head. Maybe I need to order some more Poppy’s chocolates for myself!

It’s time for me to sleep now … 5 minutes left in the game and Roosters are leading by one point.

Nite all.
