Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Lesson Learned

I discovered today that my disregard for ‘checking in’ far outweighs my desire for shopping! 😳

Adoring Husband checks me in on his app whenever we are together because he will always be a conformist and the idea of going against the establishment spirals him into stress city.

We drove into The Bay early-ish and had breakfast at our favourite haunt - although there were some disappointments surrounding the morning.

The blinds were locked closed, obscuring our water views, because they are about to start work on the front deck. I couldn’t hear very well but it sounded like they are going to add another lower level deck overlooking the beach.

Time will tell.

Adoring Husband ordered GF Eggs Benedict with Smoked Salmon - they advised there was no GF bread but they could substitute a roll, which we agreed to.

I ordered GF Canadian pancakes (with bacon and banana) and a tropical frappe. After about ten minutes a woman came to our table apologising that there were NO GF pancakes available.

I tried to order bacon, avocado, hash browns and tomato relish, BUT you can’t order from the ‘extras’ list so I had to order the cheapest thing on the menu and then modify it with the extras. It worked out $5 dearer than my original order, but they gave it to me for the same price.

AH’s breakfast was too salty and his bread roll was rock hard. He couldn’t even cut it with a knife.

My breakfast was delicious but there was way too much of it and I couldn’t eat it all. Half a cup of delicious tomato relish wasted.

After breakfast, we visited Go Natural where we discovered supplements that include Vit D, Vit C, Zinc and Quercetin in one capsule! Made in Queensland. Thank you very much.

My shopping list had chain and canvases on it, so AH dropped me off at Spotlight and then parked the car before getting a hair cut at his favourite salon Just Cuts.

I wandered aimlessly through Stocklands until he was finished and I gave him permission to stop at Bunnings to purchase a plant to put in my new pot.

It was around 1.15pm when we pulled into our driveway.

We picked up the mail on the way home and there was a big box of stock to take to the shop.

I made my afternoon pot of anti-inflammitea, watched Tipping Point and had an afternoon nap for a bit over an hour.

I prepared duck breast, boiled potato in their skin, grilled zucchini and bok choy  for AH’s dinner.

Nothing for me.

Now it’s time for me to sleep … again.

Nite all.
