There were plans afoot for my niece ‘Fishface’ to visit us this afternoon with her new husband and baby.
They travelled from Rockhampton to The Bay but didn’t realise that they would then have to drive 40 minutes from their motel back in the direction they just came from to see us.
I’d invited them for a barbecue.
They were originally going to stop on their way to The Bay so when they told me they were just checking into their motel at 3pm, I lovingly offered them an ‘out’.
Having travelled in the car for six hours with a five month old baby, I figured the last thing they would want to do is make an 80 minute round trip to us and they agreed.
They accepted my ‘out’ and instead, they will come to visit me in the shop on Saturday morning.
Adoring Husband had spent considerable time cleaning the barbecue and outdoor area and making the kitchen and living area presentable for visitors. He’s performed above and beyond his usual PA duties!
I haven’t seen Fishface for ten years so I’m looking forward to her visit tomorrow.
It was another good day of sales at the shop and I took delivery of so many clothes …
My clothes steamer is just about to die. It steams for five minutes then stops for three minutes, then starts again, so I went online and ordered a brand new Phillips garment steamer which will be delivered on Monday.
Needless to say, I didn’t get much out on display but I sold two items ‘unsteamed’ so that reduced my workload a smidge. Haha.
My other delivery has gone missing. A beautiful selection of colourful leather bags and wallets landed in Maryborough on Monday morning and haven’t been seen since. So it’s now under investigation.
I made a ‘to do’ list and only ticked one item off it - I replaced the ink cartridges in the printer - the rest of the time I was busy with customers and pricing the clothes before I steam them.
Now I lay me down to sleep. I’m weary.
Nite all.
