Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Big Trip

We took a big trip today!

All the way to Howard!

Lotto tickets and food was the order of the day and we followed that with a drive around Pacific Haven which I had never seen before.

It was not what I expected.

I was under the impression that it was a new estate on the outskirts of Howard but instead we found an outlying area of town with large blocks of land holding old, mostly decrepit houses and lots of junk including old cars and machinery, dirty shells of caravans, tyres, rotting timber and rusting tin, unkempt yards and fallen fences.

Every so often there was a nice house with a lovely garden but they were few and far between.

I was disappointed.

We returned home and I made a bit of a grazing platter for lunch, which we all grazed over and then went our separate ways.

I watched the constant flood news on TV. I don’t know how there hasn’t been more deaths and the future days are not looking good with storms due in the flood areas on Thursday.

We had leftover roast lamb with salad for dinner.

No trivia.

MAFS.

Bed time for me.

Nite all.
