Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Easy Az

It was an easy day.

I was ready to get out of bed at 8.30am but the breeze coming through the bedroom window was too icy and I was afraid to let my body hit the cold air!

So it was almost 10am when I found the courage to throw back the covers.

I made breakfast and sat in the sun by the pool.

BGWLBH showed me all the new shoots, buds and fruit/veg happening in the garden. I protected some fat tomatoes with produce bags and discovered that our snow peas are actually snap peas!

Our potatoes are going crazy, there are lots of new shoots on the blackberry plant AND the blueberry, the peas are thriving, the radishes are poking their heads up, the lettuces are abundant and ready to have leaves picked, the zucchini plants have heaps of flowers, the cherry tomatoes are taking their time to ripen and everything is looking happy.

BGWLBH talks to the plants every day and offers pep talks and encouragement. They seem to be responding favourably.

I didn’t make lunch today but I did whip up a juice - pineapple, mandarins, banana and passion fruit with coconut water. It was refreshing and delicious.

I got my art on for about 90 minutes.

Rissoles, leftover Au Gratin and sweet potato chips for dinner.

No football tonight, but YAY FOR QUEENSLAND winning State of Origin last night!!

I’m going to snuggle under the covers now and get warm and cozy for sleep.

Nite all.
