Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Likin' It!

I got my art on today.

From this ...

To this ...

Followed up by this ...

And I love all of it.

Now I have to wait for some of my art to completely dry before I do any more because there are no drying spaces left in my house!

This afternoon, Adoring Husband and I watched a documentary on Netflix called "What The Health" and I was so impressed and amazed and convinced that I've made the decision to try a 'plant based diet' for three months just to see the effects on my body.

I see two difficulties.

1.  It means that I either have to drink coffee without milk (yuk) or give up coffee altogether (again). I've done it before for three months, so I know it can be done.

2.  I base all of our meals around meat so I need to rethink my meal plans. I'm not pushing Adoring Husband to go meatless. Perhaps I can make the main part of the meal plant based and have the meat on the side???

It will be an interesting experiment and I'm going to keep a diary - food and thoughts - to keep a record of the experiment.

Who knows? It may last forever! OR I may not make it to three months!

Wait and see.

I'm looking forward to a beverage with the girls in the morning and then lunch with Woman of Many Talents and Mrs Bucket.

A big social day!

Nite all.
