Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Sleepy

I’m just waiting for the rain.

I’ve been watching the BOM - not in a scared or worried way - but in a hopeful, interested way - and it looks like we might get some steady rain for a while. Nothing significant or heavy, but probably enough to make the weather even more steamy tomorrow than it was today.

The wind has been gale force for most of the day too, which adds to the discomfort!

I had a fairly slow day with few customers, but the few customers spent freely, so sales were good.

I went from this many emails …

… to this many emails …

That’s called productive decluttering! I’ll do the rest in the morning - I’m well aware that my joy at having only 1400 unopened emails is somebody else’s trigger for a meltdown haha.

I received an email from Grannymus (my first mother-in-law, or what we used to call ‘mother-in-love’) today. I can’t believe she just turned 91!

It was so nice to hear from her and to know that she still reads my blog. I’m sending warm hugs for her today.

I filled my belly with healthful green juice for breakfast, fresh prawns with mango and avocado for lunch and crispy skinned salmon with salsa (mango, avocado, cucumber, coriander and dressing) for dinner.

My body is already thanking me - except I still didn’t drink enough water. I did enjoy my anti-inflammitea this afternoon though.

I’m working on my food intake to reduce my bloated belly.

Now it’s time to sign off so that I can go to bed and fall asleep to the sound of rain.

This is a road trip memory from back in the days when we were a free country.

Will we ever be free again?

Nite all.
