Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Torrential

I was very lucky to have some good customers in the morning - before the torrential rains came - so it didn’t matter that the weather kept everyone away for the afternoon.

Since last Friday afternoon, we’ve received a delightful 110mm of rain.

It was good to see no leaks in the ceiling with such prolonged heavy rain. The first heavy rain this year had water streaming down the training room wall but there was nothing today.

Adoring Husband and I set up the tables ready for art.

We are paint pouring over lazy susans this week, so they should be ready to use by Christmas. They will make a great gift idea too!

I received a box of new stock today. Some quirky earrings that will also make great gifts for teenagers and young adults.

I sold one pair this morning.

After work, I was considering joining my girls for their games afternoon, but with all that rain, my mood was for changing into my pyjamas (at 2.30pm) and plonking myself on the couch with a cup of tea.

AH cooked the usual Friday night fare of chicken nibbles so it was lovely to do nothing all afternoon.

I definitely need to have an early night because the last four nights were way past midnight when I fell asleep and I’m almost running on empty.

I’m not sure if it’s noticeable to you, but I have increased the size of the font to make it easier for my friends with eyesight problems to read. Let me know if there is a difference at your end.

Nite all.
