Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Weathery

What a ‘weathery’ couple of days we’ve had!

85mm of rain collected in our rain gauge over 24 hours.

I think we’ve got a couple of days of sunshine coming up and the rains will come again on Friday.

Even though sales were good enough to reach my happy minimum, today was not busy in the shop so I took it upon myself to send 43 emails to every QLD Senator and MP (a first for me!) I could find.

I have never felt so strongly about anything in my life and I am fearful enough for our future that I want to fight for it.

My fears have nothing to do with the pandemic.

So after a lovely coffee morning with The Brains Trust, Aggie and Maid Marian, that’s what filled my work day.

There were lots of heavy rain showers, and just when I  thought they were over, another one would hit hard and fast, which is probably what kept the customers away.

There was no journaling class this afternoon so I set up the room for meditation and was able to come home and make a chicken, tomato and rice dish to pop in the oven for a couple of hours.

I had some leftover chicken from last night and some watermelon. Just a little nibble really.

I’ve made a deal with myself to have lights out by 11pm. I haven’t been settling into sleep until after 1am for over a week and even though I’m sleeping soundly, it’s not enough sleep and it’s wearing me out so I need a better routine.

Just before I say good night, here is my little Bubba Hazie …

Nite all.
