Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Recovery Day

Boy oh boy did I need this Sunday as my recovery day.

I got up to make breakfast.

For Adoring Husband, bacon, mushrooms, grilled tomato with a side of pancakes and maple syrup.

For me, Canadian pancakes - bacon, banana and maple syrup.

During breakfast we watched a nice move on Netflix called “The Tomorrow Man” with Blythe Danner and John Lithgow. It was odd but interesting, with some warm messages and an unexpected ending.

Then I returned to bed where I napped and played Words With Friends, watched some YouTube videos and hung out in Facebook for a while.

I dragged myself out of bed to cook a baked dinner of chicken, potato, sweet potato, carrot, onion, cabbage and cherry tomatoes with home made gravy.

We watched IACGMOOH and saw Davina evicted.

We then switched channels to watch the cricket only to discover that Australia had already won, with a day remaining!

I’m back in bed and it’s 10pm so I might play a few games of WWF before snoozing.

I found this on YouTube today and it piqued my interest.

Happy Monday to you.

Nite all.
