Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Hot n Bothered

She was a warm one today but we didn’t even make it to the pool.

I got up, made breakfast which I ate in the art space, sharing it with not so psychotic dog Colli.

She smells the toast and appears at my side waiting for a morsel so I cut it into triangles and break off the crusty corners for her. With very few teeth left in her head, it takes her a long time to gum it to death until it’s soft enough to swallow!

I was just beginning to feel inspired to get creative when BGWLBH invited me to The Bay, so I made myself presentable and off we drove in the oppressive heat.

We went in search of more photo frames from the op shops but unfortunately we were out of luck today. It looked like nothing had changed since the last time we cleaned them out.

We did some shopping at Coles and decided on tuna Patties for dinner as well as leftover quiche and Adoring Husband ate the leftover chicken from last night.

After dinner, BGWLBH and I selected the next lot of seeds from our stash for her to propagate.

Unfortunately our garden is absolutely riddled with fruit fly, caterpillars and white moths and we’ve had to dispose of so much of our produce. The netted covers have been ineffective but the netted tie bags have been great for protecting the tomatoes. We just have to get the bags on early enough.

Tomorrow is coffee at the Lions Park and it’s almost midnight so I’d best get some sleep.

Nite all.
