Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Time Well Spent

I made a good start in the old art room today, spending two hours clearing drawers and moving ‘stuff’ to new, more appropriate locations.

There is still a way to go but I expect to get most of it done tomorrow.

Once it’s finished, I’ll start decluttering my bedroom and hopefully move Adoring Husband’s clothes out of the walk in robe and into the back wardrobe so that I can fit my clothes in the robe. Currently, I have hanging racks hooked over the ensuite door and wardrobe door to hang my clothes because AH is a wardrobe hog!

I got to spend a little time in my new art space dreaming about what I’m going to do when my supplies arrive this week - unless the floods down south cause a problem with delivery, in which case I’ll have to spend a torturous week wishing I could get started!

That’s just me being selfish because there are so many people down south suffering and struggling through those dreadful floods and it’s just ongoing - as predicted and which I mentioned in this blog a few weeks ago.

Meanwhile our weather here has been delightful. Perfect swimming and washing weather.

I prepared barbecue oven baked chicken for dinner with tomato and garlic string beans, grilled banana and zucchini and sweet potato chips which all went down very well.

I’m feeling pretty weary now after far more daily activity than I’m used to!

Nite all.
