Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

New Covid Strain This strain is resistant to all vaccines BUT they still advise you to be up to date with your vaccinations - even though the strains that you are supposedly vaccinated against are no longer in existence!

The weather was beautiful this morning for coffee in the park with the girls and there were six of us enjoying each other’s company.

BGWLBH stayed at home nursing her tender mouth after yesterdays visit to the dentist.

From the park I rode to the supermarket to grab a few items before going home.

At home, I discovered BGWLBH sitting in the art space creating some lovely little pieces of arty, crafty wonderfulness.

I really wanted to do art too but I just couldn’t decide what, so I boiled 8 eggs and used half of them to make curried egg and the other half to do mashed egg with shredded lettuce and diced onion. I put the latter on some toast for myself for lunch.

I sat in the art space with BGWLBH until almost 2pm and we discussed when we will have all the girls over for an art day.

Soon.

Tonight’s dinner was duck with salad for Adoring Husband, and for BGWLBH, lettuce cups with curried egg and pumpkin soup because she’s not allowed to chew hard food for the next week.

I wasn’t hungry.

I’ve been watching the 8th series of  “Portrait Artist of the Year” and feeling inspired to try a portrait. I’m going to watch all of the other series until I feel like I know how to get going.

It’s 10.30pm and I don’t have any social plans or errands to run tomorrow so I can take my time getting out of bed.

Nite all.
