Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Decision Made

Got a bit arty today - thanks to BGWLBH who texted a request, while I was still in bed, to join her in the art space.

I don’t think I’m quite finished yet, but so far …

I only have three projects on the go at the moment and I’d like to finish all of them before I start the next.

I woke at 2.20am and could not get back to sleep until 5am so I slept until 9.30am. I lay in bed with my eyes closed for 90 minutes and I wasn’t even thinking about anything. I just COULD NOT sleep!

We made a decision today and will have a new member of the family soon.

No name yet. That’s a work in progress.

Tonight I made chicken soup entree, potato and sweet potato mash with spicy maple chilli chicken for main, but BGWLBH could only have the mash because she’s still on a soft food diet, then we had home made apple tart for dessert with stewed apple and rhubarb.

I also made a stewed apple and rhubarb meringue tart which was delicious.

Already it’s 10pm so it’s bed time for me.

Nite all.
