Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Egg Hunt

Well! Thanks to those ‘across the road’ neighbours, I enjoyed another disturbed evening that prevented sleep until after 1.30am.

I have a sneaking suspicion that their last visitor may have been the police. The last car that arrived, slowly and quietly stopped outside and the two people who left the car, very gently closed the car doors and walked to front door. Prior to this, all visitors were greeted by opening the garage door.

I heard the screen door open and they were inside for about 15-20 minutes and then quietly left. From that moment on, there was peace.

I came to bed at 7pm and he was already causing a commotion.

Aside from the constant flow of visitors, he was rummaging around in the back of his ute, which is full of tools and other paraphernalia. At one point, he drove off at speed and 15 minutes later, returned, at speed, and screeched into the driveway slamming on his brakes.

At 1.15am he was drumming loudly and rhythmically (NOT musically) on his ute.

So, to cheer me up and pass the time, I watched more YouTubers reacting to John Farnham singing. It made the disturbances easier to bear.

I finally got to sleep before 2am but didn’t wake up this morning until 9am.

I found a text message from BGWLBH asking if I wanted to accompany her into town and help her hunt for eggs. Our usual haunts didn’t have eggs on Thursday.

So I jumped out of bed, showered and made myself presentable.

I left Harley in Adoring Husband’s capable hands for play time.

We found eggs surprisingly quickly so decided, after receiving a text from the RSL Club about their golden ticket promotion, to spend some quality time gambling and testing our golden ticket luck.

BGWLBH’s luck was on point and her name was called to draw out a golden ticket! She is now in the running for $50,000 draw in November!

It was a good day.

I played with Harley this afternoon, then crumbed my prawns for ‘fend for yourself’ dinner night.

Sat down to watch the football and still have not had any success with tipping and nor has anyone else!

So far this evening, the neighbour has been very quiet, so I’m going to attempt sleep now.

Nite all.
