Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

A Lot Like Christmas

Christmas shopping officially done and dusted.

Now it’s going to take me weeks to wrap and mail it all!

On Monday, I had a day in the Bay - bought some home made dresses for little Hazie for Christmas and visited the art/craft store where BGWLBH sells her art. It’s a lovely little shop with a good variety of arts and crafts available.

There were clothes, beautiful handbags, journals, jewellery, wall art, cards, painted rocks with quotes, hanging mobiles, garden ornaments, coasters, stubby holders, quilts and so much more.

Tuesday, I got to sleep in because meditation is done for the year.

Today (Wednesday), BGWLBH and I escaped to the Bay.

We had the guy coming to repair the roller door in the garage/art space, so we had to move the tables and the paraphernalia that was on them so that he could access the parts that required repair.

To avoid noise, power cuts, discomfort and anything else that we imagined would occur, we chose to escape.

Turns out he was only here for 20 minutes and the job was complete!

So I guess tomorrow, I will spend quite some time wrapping Christmas presents and hopefully sending them in the mail, so that they arrive at their destination before Christmas.

It’s now heading towards midnight and I need to be up early for morning tea with the art girls, so sleep time for me.

Nite all.
