Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

I'm Ready

Another 'funny' to start the day ...

This is how my day began ...

Spent the day in The Bay and all I can say is that there are some very dangerous young children and teenagers with electric scooters out and about for the school holidays.

They don't obey any road rules and scoot across the road in front of cars, through roundabouts and through traffic lights. They don't use the button at traffic lights as pedestrians do, they just GO and sometimes without even looking.

They travel at crazy speeds. One was at Pialba shopping centre this afternoon and was moving so fast in between shoppers that I actually gasped in fear. He tore around a corner to enter the plaza without slowing or checking for people coming in the other direction. My God, he was an accident waiting to happen.

If there are no accidents, injuries or fatalities during the school holidays caused by electic scooters, I will be very surprised.

We were home in time to watch the footy and my tipping is going very well so far. I am, as of this moment, 6 points in the lead! Unheard of!

I made myself fried rice and honeyed prawns for 'fend for yourself' dinner. BGWLBH made herself a couple pizzas. Adoring Husband had a salad roll and my leftovers haha.

There a storms scudding about tonight and we just had a short sharp shower. I can hear thunder in the distance, but I don't think we'll get too much out of it...

I have a big day tomorrow photographing a wedding. Wish me luck. Weddings are a tough gig when you are on your own. Most wedding photographers have an assistant to do some of the dirty work like passing lenses, arranging dresses and veils, putting people into position, getting everyone's attention and even taking a few pics in the background.

I can only do my best.

Now it's time to sleep.

Nite all.
