Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Who'da Thunk!?

Who'da thunk that the Dolphins would thrash Melbourne Storm so convincingly?!?

What a surprise.

There's always one team that wants to destroy my tipping record each week.

Today was a pretty quiet and lazy type of day.

I didn't even get out of bed until well after 9am.

I played with Harley, peeled some prawns for breakfast, watched "Landscape Artist of the Year" and "Portrait Artist of the Year" with Adoring Husband and then decided to retreat to my bedroom and start the short manifesting course that I purchased two weeks ago and hadn't looked at yet.

That's how I filled my afternoon until the football started at 4pm.

AH cooked the usual Friday night fare and I didn't think I could stay up for the second footy match at 8pm so Harley and I retreated (again) to the bedroom.

Here it is, almost 10.30pm and it turns out that I COULD stay awake for the footy!

Our only plan for Easter is to stay at home and avoid the Fishing Classic crowds.

I DO need to get a photo for the 52Frames theme this week "Under/Over-exposed".

I like the idea of being down at the river for sunrise in the morning because they have forecast fog - which would be great for this theme, however, I don't think I'm capable of getting out of bed that early using my own free will!

When I HAVE to get up for a purpose, like catching a train/plane for travel or driving to a destination appointment etc., I can definitely do it then, but for a photo opportunity that won't even win me anything other than a possible "top 3" position ... it's just not enough to motivate me.

We'll see what happens over the next few days.

Maybe I'll get a bit arty this weekend OR do some more on my book/journal/affirmation cards.

There has been a helicopter flying around for a couple of hours tonight. Apparently they are searching for a missing man who took his dogs for a walk this morning at around 10.40am and hasn't returned. He was heading towards a nearby creek but hasn't been seen since.

This is the 4th person to go missing in our local area in the last year or so. So far we've been lucky to have successful outcomes. Let's hope this one is too.

Time for me to sleep now.

Nite all.
