Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Low Motivation

I really wanted to go for a ride on my trike today, but the weather was blustery with sweeping clouds that threatened rain, so I just couldn’t find the motivation to fight the weather.

Instead, I played with Harley, cooked myself some crumbed fish served with fresh garden tomatoes and avocado for my brunch and plonked my butt on the couch.

I watched an old Bruce Willis movie “Striking Distance” from 1993 and then found a new one on Amazon Prime called “Hail Mary” with Ryan Gosling which I thoroughly enjoyed. Any movie with Ryan Gosling is a winner in my books.

BGWLBH is not well so I served her a big bowl of chicken, vegetable and noodle soup, followed by some fried rice. Adoring Husband and I enjoyed baked lemon and garlic barramundi served with fried rice.

For dessert I had coconut vanilla bean ice cream in a GF cone. Yum.

Farmer Wants a Wife was on this evening, followed by the tennis. De Minaur is about to play. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to stick it out because I was awake until after 2am watching Djokovic win his match.

I love my Grand Slam tennis but it’s definitely more difficult for me to stay up til stupid o’clock at my age. I take longer to recover - like a hangover.

Right now, I’m going to rub my body in magnesium/frankincense gel and snuggle down under the covers to fall asleep watching/listening to the tennis.

Nite all.
