Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Birthday Complete

Well … I had a lovely birthday and spent most of the day in my room.

I got up at 8am to open my gifts, make tea and take Harley out to play.

I crumbed and cooked my prawns, then took them to my bedroom where I stayed until 3pm when I was required to join Adoring Husband and BGWLBH to blow out a candle on my cake slices and have tea from my new teapot …

I received the teapot, a bracelet and two manifesting crystals from BGWLBH.

AH and I have a date tomorrow when we’ll purchase my birthday gift and our anniversary present to each other, followed by lunch at Ricardo’s.

BGWLBH bought a cooked chook and a Greek salad home for her and AH to have for dinner, so I didn’t have to cook.

We played trivia for an hour.

I received a phone call from my Aunty Jackie who is 82yrs old and we chatted for an hour.

I received a phone call from Vegan Chickie and we chatted for 90 minutes.

I received a phone call from my Aunty Fay who is 81yrs old and we chatted for 30 mins.

I received a text from Number One Son.

I received a text from my niece KD.

I received a text from my sister.

I received a text from The Gypsy.

I received an email from Heart of Gold.

I received Facebook messages from the very few friends I have on my new Facebook account.

There are a few people that I hoped to hear from but didn’t.

Now, I guess I’ll be rushing headlong towards 70!

Time to sleep now.

Nite all.
