Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Sunday of Ease

Even though, once you’ve retired, there’s no such thing as a weekend, Sundays still feel like free lazy days.

That’s what today was for me.

It was after 9am when I left my bed and Harley was perfectly happy to wait til I was ready to rise.

As always, a cuppa tea and Harley play was first on the agenda.

I did my washing, made some breakfast and parked my butt n the couch where I watched the movie “Tin Cup” with Kevin Costner, Cheech, Don Johnson and Rene Russo.

I filled the next hour with AFL while I waited for the NRL to start.

I’m pleased to announce that my tipping finished on a high when I tipped Tigers to defeat Sharks and I am now 10 points in front of 2nd place! This weekend added 12pts to my total! I am very happy

Tonight, for dinner, I prepared Chicken Scaloppini, potato and sweet potato mash with green beans and broccolini.

We played trivia for an hour then Adoring Husband and I watched the Australian 1% Club before retiring to our bedrooms.

I’m not sure what tomorrow will bring, so I shall sleep now, in preparation for it.

Nite all.
