Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Lunch at MAHs

MAH = Miners Arms Hotel at Torbanlea.

I was picked up in the MG and we went for a spin out to Torbanlea, approximately 20 minutes.

It was like a joyride at the carnival!

Obviously, no air conditioning and no side windows. The roof was up and driving between 90 and 100kph, the wind buffeted around the side view mirrors and whipped my hair around my face. Luckily I remembered to bring a hair band so I didn’t look like someone from the Blair Witch Project when we arrived at our destination!

I loved every minute of that drive! It brought back childhood memories of when cars had no air conditioning and we relied on the wind through the windows to keep us cool.

The food at the pub was delicious. I had barramundi with chips and salad. Probably the best chips I’ve had for a while - crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside. Everybody was happy with their meal and we all drank lemon, lime and bitters, non alcoholic, because they were driving.

The service was super friendly, but a bit slow because of young trainees - they have to start somewhere.

I will return some time in the future.

We arrived at 11.30am and I was at home in my kitchen at 2.30pm.

Adoring Husband arrived home soon after me and had finished golf early due to vision problems. I sent him to the butcher anyway. I figured that if he could drive home from Howard with vision problems, a short trip to the butcher wouldn’t hurt.

🥴

BGWLBH made 4 salads for dinner and AH cooked meat on the barbecue, so I didn’t have to think about it. I heated some chicken broth for myself.

I’ve had a very nice day and now it’s time to sleep.

Nite all.
