Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Product of my Generation

What a day!

It was about 1am when I finally fell asleep watching the golf.

It was 7am when I woke up and turned the TV on to the golf channel to watch the final 2 hours of round 2.

It was a bit after 9.30am when I climbed out of bed and took Harley out for his play. Forty five minutes later, I did a touch of gardening before making the decision to spend the day in the kitchen.

Hence, nothing on yesterday’s list got done.

I began cooking at 10.30am and finally sat down at 4.30pm.

The results of my cookathon was:

  • Spaghetti bolognese sauce x 8 meals
  • Chicken and vegetable soup x 4 meals
  • Beef Goulash x 5 meals
  • Butter Chicken x 6 meals
  • Crumbed chicken x 7 meals
I am obviously a product of my generation because not once did I consider taking photos of my accomplishments!

So I found pics online that closely resemble my efforts …

Our freezer is now chock full and I doubt I could squeeze much else into those 5 big drawers, although the small freezer may have room for more. I’ll check tomorrow.

My lower back was giving me a bit of grief during those six hours and I had to take a 5 minute break every hour on the hour to ease the discomfort, but all things considered, I feel pretty good tonight.

If my body is still ok tomorrow, I might make a key lime pie because we’ve run out of sweet treats.

I’m now in bed watching the football. I’m not doing too well in the tipping this week and my sister has caught up to me! Eep! We can’t allow that to continue!

Ok, time to watch some golf now.

For Adoring Husband 🥰

Nite all.
