Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

A Gentle Friday

While BGWLBH worked at the Crafty Bee today, Adoring Husband and I had a very lazy, unproductive day at home.

I woke at 6.30am and turned on the TV to watch the PGA golf championship. I had watched it the night before until about midnight, so I caught the final 2 hours of round one.

I was out of bed by 9.15am for Harley play and I watered my garden. I also wrapped the newly formed tomatoes in their protective bags.

Leftover sausage rolls were my breakfast.

I watched the second half of a movie that I’d started to watch on Thursday. I watched the first episode of the new series of Great Pottery Throwdown and before my quiz shows started, I watched the end of the movie playing on the same channel.

I made more sausage rolls with the leftover meat mixture from Wednesday night and I had them for dinner, sharing with BGWLBH.

AH had Thursday nights leftovers …

Chicken pieces coated in soy, honey and chilli, with roasted potato, capsicum, carrot, onion and tomato, topped with crumbled goats cheese, pine nuts, parsley and steamed beans

I didn’t taste it, but I’m told that apart from the chicken being a bit dry, it tasted delicious. I may have overcooked the chicken a touch. Bugger.

Tonight I was in bed ready to watch the football at 6pm, have watched both games and will now fall asleep with the golf in the background.

I have no plans for tomorrow. There is lots that I’d like to do, like:

  • My washing
  • Clean my ensuite
  • Vacuum my bedroom
  • Mop the hallway
  • Wash the big glass sliding doors
  • Rebound with my hand weights
  • Start my budget diary
  • Make some jewellery
  • Do more of my seahorse art
  • Tidy my dressing table
  • Clean the cage of my pedestal fan
I could add more to that list, but we all know that my motivation level will be low enough to do very few, if any of the chores or activities on that list!

Sleep time for me now.

Nite all.
