Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Another Week Bites the Dust

What was supposed to be a quiet day at home baking, turned into a day in the bay … again 🫤

Adoring Husband was picked up by a mate and they drove to Maryborough hospital to visit a sick mate. Actually I’m not sure if it was Maryborough or Hervey Bay, but hopefully, by the sounds of it, the mate is improving slightly and they are feeling hopeful.

BGWLBH has had orders come in for her painted rocks so she needed to visit Bunnings to load up on her rock stocks.

She invited me along and I needed some new pots for my excess tomato plants, so I accepted her offer.

Needless to say, no baking got done and we had a very early, very easy dinner of sourdough with avocado, goats cheese, cranberry jelly, green sprouts and turkey breast. Always delicious.

I had a terrible nights sleep and was awake until 4.30am and slept until 8.30am. By the time we arrived home from the bay, I was feeling very weary and dozed a little on the couch during the afternoon.

I’ve watched the footy this evening and so far have two from two correct tips. A nice start to the weekend.

My gut issues have been much better today.

Now I need to sleep.

Nite all.
