Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Mother's Day

Breakfast in bed ... poached eggs on gluten free toast and a side of toast with macadamia honey ... served by the Bare-chested Chef (no he actually wasn't bare chested when he served it).

A morning shopping trip with Chicklet to buy coffee and dinosaurs.

Fruit salad and ice cream for lunch with the girls and then a movie (101 Dalmatians) with Chicklet.

A later than usual dinner at 'Little Humid' http://www.humid.com.au/

The website isn't up and running yet, but at least the contact details are there for you.

Absolutely delicious!  Wonderful service.  Lovely atmosphere.  A perfect ending to Mother's Day.

I had Duck Confit with roasted beets and pumpkin and celeriac puree and some kind of tasty jus for main meal.  Creme Brulee with poached pear for dessert.  Two glasses of Sem Sav Blanc.

Thank you so much to my lovely Chicklet family for spoiling me on Mother's Day.  It was much more than I ever expected and I had a wonderful day.

A lovely phone call from Number One Son and a cute text to wish me a "Happy love you more than yesterday day" from Bubbles.

A pretty good day all round really.

Tomorrow I go home :( but it's only 6 weeks til my next visit!

Nite all.
