I slept in.
I woke at 8.30am and stayed in bed until 9.30am.
Adoring Husband had bought my coffee and delivered it to my bedside, but I slept until it had gone cold. He was good enough to reheat it for me and I lazed around until it was study time.
I did go for a trike ride and I checked the mail before discovering that it was a public holiday for the Post Office due to the Fraser Coast show. That was a shame because I was expecting a parcel today.
I missed a birthday .. one of my boys celebrated his 78th birthday today and I thought it was tomorrow. I even have a gift for him .. I guess it will now be a belated birthday gift.
It's a chilly night tonight, so I'm off to snuggle down under the doona.
Nite all.
I'm lazy and selfish and spend too much time on the internet. I love to be creative with photography and jewellery and sketching with pencil and pastels. I'm happier now than I have ever been and I love everything about my life ... where I live, my home, my fantastic grown up children, my lifestyle, my friends, my dogs and last but not least my wonderful adoring husband. Life is good!
Nice to see you!
Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.
Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.
Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**
Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!
So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!
Welcome to my dilemna!!
