Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Fiery Threat

There was a large bushfire on the outskirts of our town yesterday, which burned through the night and proved difficult for the fire brigade to bring under control. This photo is not mine and was taken from a local property, so it got quite close!

Adoring Husband spent the night at the SES shed providing support for the fieries and didn't climb into bed until after 4am. He spent more time at the shed today and unfortunately there was some unexpected extra work to do with his maintenance job, which he had to attend to this afternoon, so he is exhausted and is currently sleeping in his recliner chair as I type this.

The fieries were successful in their endeavours to kill the fire before it reached any buildings, so we can all rest easy, but now the investigation begins into how it started. They suspect arson.

Meanwhile, my editing skills have been sought to repair or improve a photo that was poorly taken. I don't think I can make much of an improvement, but I'll try (like I have extra time before I go away to do this!). There are times when 'no' should be my appropriate response.

I've been searching through the official trailers of movies that will be released in 2017 and sadly, there are MANY superhero and marvel movies. Plenty of science fiction and horror movies. Very few romances or comedies - well none that have trailers or previews right now anyway.

I'm looking forward to the new Bridget Jones movie that will be released on 15th September. I will be on the Sunny Coast, but I have a date booked to see it with Adoring Husband upon my return!

Three more sleeps til I see my little Chicklet!!

So much to do, so little time! I need a 'to do' list ... we all know how successful my 'to do' lists are!

I'll think about it tomorrow. Right now, it's time for bed.

Nite all.
