Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

I Forgot

Harley got a new outdoor raised bed today.

I also bought some new treats and a ball.

The ball is a touch bigger than a tennis ball, it bounces quite high, moves very fast when it hits the ground and is made from hard plastic so it makes a hell of a noise when it hits the wall/fence/furniture.

He loves it.

While in The Bay, I ran into a few locals who I haven’t seen for a while. A couple who used to attend meditation at the shop, a couple who do the markets regularly and a couple who used to live around the corner.

It was weird seeing so many people that I know. It doesn’t usually happen.

Our shopping list today sent us to Dentist, Petbarn, Heaps Discount, Newsagent, Coles, Fruitnveg kiosk, Kmart, Bank, Spotlight, Su Jus cafe, Robin’s Kitchen and Coffee Club.

Because Harley missed out on our play time this morning, I changed into home clothes and took him straight out to the pool area to test out the new ball. We squeezed about 40 minutes of play in before I rested in front of the TV watching Cheers.

It was Taco Tuesday for us, which is a nice easy dinner.

I’m feeling pretty weary about now so I reckon I’ll be asleep before 10.30pm.

Nite all.
